About the Composition
Heroes & Villains is for double bass trio where players of different levels can play together. I wrote it for the bass students at Agolada Music Camp, where I am the double bass teacher, and it is inspired by comic heroes and villains and the fight between good and evil. Evil is represented with a low theme with a worrisome and mysterious atmosphere and good is represented by a lyrical and epic theme.
Heroes & Villains a colorful and powerful work where players will have the opportunity to explore different playing styles such as sul ponticello, tremolo, harmonics, pizzicato alongside some rhythmic challenges." [Simón García]
